Chris Coniaris: Yoga workshop
Fri-Sun, Oct 1-3, 2010
Workshop will focus on how postures, breath and thought unite for the deepest experience of yoga asana. The weekend will examine and work with all three of these elements to cultivate the experience of yoga, a state where the illusion of separation is replaced with awareness of the present moment that brings peace and wisdom.
Based on a traditional five sheath model designed to dispel human illusions, we will examine the body as connected muscle groups rather than isolated muscle and bones. Practicing steady transitions with postures will train mindfulness. Subtle awareness and control of the breath will link mind to body and help remove the feeling of isolation. Imagery and visualization will actualize as skill in action. All levels welcome.
