This six week series will be tailored to all continuing beginner students who are interested in exploring further the practice of yoga. In addition to the physical practice of yoga, this series will include an introduction to relevant Sanskrit words used in the practice of yoga, selected Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and developing breath awareness. The physical practice will emphasize the alignment of postures within the vinyasa style of practice. Drop-in students are welcome to attend. Questions? The first limb of yoga, as described in the Yoga Sutras, is “yama” or ethical disciplines. Learn what the yamas are and how they apply to the physical (asana)practice of yoga. Each week a different yama will be discussed before the asana practice. Explore that yama within the context of your practice. Students attending must have a minimum of 10 hours of yoga class time. Previous “All Levels” attendance is not required. Standing postures, basic inversions and back bending will be explored in this alignment based vinyasa style yoga class. Expand Your Practice!! Come nurture your mind and spirit while strengthening your body, and playfully bonding with your new baby. The babies participate with the parent throughout the class enjoying age appropriate stimulation exercises, as well as, being integrated into the asana practice. Babies age 6 weeks through crawling are welcome. Parents of all age are welcome.
